Last night's, Family Home Evening!

The year that I got pregnant with Ayla, I talked about how I wanted to go biking that summer. I brought it up a lot. Kurt really didn't say anything about biking. I started to get excited for summer that year. Then at the beginning of summer I found out I was pregnant. Which was exciting! I decided to put riding bikes off for another year. Then Kurt came home from work one day that summer and said he wanted a bike. So he went and bought one. I was happy for him but at the same time I wanted a bike and I couldn't go! Anyway, Kurt rode his bike so much that summer. He actually rode in a bicycle tournament for diabetes. He rode 70 miles! I was so proud of him!

Well since then, we have talked about getting a trailer for Ayla to ride in and getting me a bike to ride. This past weekend we found an affordable trailer for Ayla and we borrowed my sister-in-law's bike for me. She hasn't needed it and so we fixed it up and it is my bike for a while until she wants it back.

So after we had our fabulous lessons on the gospel for family home evening, we did our activity. We went on a bike ride!!!!!

Here is Ayla getting ready for her first bike ride!
She looks so cute all strapped in!

Kurt pulled her.

I rode behind.
We took a ride on the Jordan Parkway. At first we went in the direction of Kurt's work.

We decide to turn around and go the other way.

We went until we reached a park so Ayla could play.

Here I am posing with the borrowed bike. Thanks Suz!

Here I am trying to ride the bike slow for a picture, about ready to fall over!

This was the playground there.

It was the perfect size for Ayla.
Most playgrounds are too big and I have to go on them with her to be sure she is safe.

She could do the slides on her own.

Ready, set, go!!!

Whee!!!

How fun!

She even went on the tall slides except Kurt and I had to help her to the slides. This part of the playground was a bit big.

We had such a wonderful, FHE! We plan on going on a lot of bike rides this summer. That is unless I get pregnant sometime! Then Ayla and Kurt will just go on bike rides by themselves!

I love riding a bike! It is one of the most fun ways to get exercise!

What I have been wanting to post all week!

It brings me great pleasure to post something! I have been wanting to post things all week but haven't had the chance. I have been busy making invitations for my sister's graduation, getting addresses, sending them out and with other things. This post isn't that long and it is mostly pictures. Enjoy!

First off, our wacko yard!

We mowed our yard for the first time last Friday. It was seriously a jungle.

Below are some before and after pictures.

Before

After
Much better but now we need a weed eater or an edger.

Better but we need an edger.

Now for the weeds.

Last year I cleared out my flower beds of weeds and they kept growing back, so I would pull them again. Now this year they look even worse. I have never been a gardener. I have never really learned how to plant anything. My question to all of you is, how in the world do you get rid of weeds without toxins? I don't want anything harmful around Ayla. I have got to clean these babies out soon because my sweet neighbor is going to share some of her flowers from her garden with us.

Even though our yard is crazy, it has brought me a few presents I didn't know about because we didn't live here last spring.

Tulips growing in random places!

They have brought me joy seeing them.
I asked Kurt to watch out for them while mowing.

Because, like I said, they are in the most random spots.

We also have had blossoms in our yard!

This is what it looks like going into our yard with the blossoms. I loved it!
Now the blossoms are gone due to the weather we have had. :(

It has been warm lately though. We brought out Ayla's swing and the slide. It brings me happiness to see her play on them!

It has been so warm that in the evenings we have brought Ayla out. And yes those are Easter eggs. We play Easter egg hunts all month. Kurt hid the eggs this time. I love how he used the tulips! How fun!

Here is Ayla staring at a bug. I loved this picture!

I love spring!

Another reason to love spring is, the baby animals that are born. Last Saturday, Kurt's aunt invited us over to the farm to look at the baby animals and feed them.

All the kids got the chance to feed the baby calf. This was Brooke's turn. So cute!

Yes, Ayla had her turn too!

So fun!

The kids also got to see a baby goat that the neighbors brought out.

They also got to hold some baby chicks.
Here is cute little Morganne with a yellow chick!

This one was a baby rooster.

Grandma Perry putting the rooster in Ayla's hand.
I love how Morganne looks in this picture, so happy!

In the hand.

Holding it on her own.

Not quite sure what to think.

I held the baby rooster too.

Even with all those animals, Ayla still paid attention to the kitty.

The last thing I wanted to blog about was:

I bought me some new pretty shoes! Do you like them? I do! I love them and I love that they only cost $8 at Payless.

Thanks for letting me get my posts out!! Have a great weekend!

I am so grateful I worked at ATG!

I worked out at the airport for 8 years. When I left, I was so burnt out and felt relief. I thought I had wasted my time there but as I look back, everything I have today is a result of working there. It was there where I met most of the friends I have now. Some being some of my closest friends.

It was there I met my second missionary in my life who got me to read the Book of Mormon which changed my life completely. I had very good friends there too that were missionaries to me. One of them being my good friend, Ann. Because of these missionary experiences, I met my wonderful husband and had my beautiful little girl.

This past Friday, I had the privilege of having dinner with some of my friends from Air Terminal Gifts. A couple of them hadn't seen me since before I converted to the Church. It was so nice to report to them and tell them I was married in the temple and that I was an active member and loving every moment of it. That I have never been so happy in my life than I am right now.

I am so grateful I had dinner with these wonderful women who mean so much to me. We plan to do more pot luck dinners in the future. I look forward to them.

Here are some of the great women from ATG.
L to R : Arlene, Ayla and me, Alethea, Patty, Marline and Adora.

Heavenly Father puts people in our lives to guide us and to comfort us!

Watch Ayla Grow #6!

This post is long over due. Actually I was supposed to do this post over a month ago. You see, I always do a monthly post about my daughter on how she has grown and the things she has learned. Then every 4 months I do a Watch Ayla Grow post. Sometimes I combined the 2 depending on what month it is. This post is one of those combined post.

Here is Ayla at 20 months.

Here she is at 21 months.
Don't you just love the toy mess? Boy can she make a mess!

22 months moving her table from the kitchen after having cereal.

23 months
I love her eyes in this one!

Here she is at 2 years old with her cute cousin Morganne.
They like to hide in this cupboard.

Ayla turned 2 this past February.

She wieghed 22 lbs 8 oz. and was 33 i/2 inches tall.
She gained very little and she grew very little from the month before. At her 24 month check up they said she is starting to get back on the curve that most kids start to slow down now and average out to be about the same.

In her 24th month she started to take pictures with the camera.

Here is one that she took of herself.
Kurt and I couldn't stop laughing!!!

She also decided that opening mail is like opening presents.
Now every time I get the mail I let her open it. She loves it! She always gets excited to open the bills and show us what it is!

Now for the second part of this post.

Like I said, I like to do a Watch Ayla Grow post every 4 months but you really can't see her grow that much so I decided to do a more drastic Watch Ayla Grow post and then you can see how much she really has grown.

Here she is at 2 days old.
Ready for her first car ride home from the hospital.

Here she is at 4 months.
Oh, how I miss this rainbow dress!

Here she is at 8 months starting to crawl.

Here she is at 12 months.
I made that Kermit shirt for her for her birthday party.

Here she is at 16 months playing in the water for her first time.

Here she is at 20 months trying fry sauce for her first time and, I might add, it was Arctic Circle fry sauce. Yummy!

Here she is at 24 months in her Tinkerbell costume that she got for Christmas. She sure loves Tinkerbell now.

And here she is now at 25 months.
She is wearing her Easter dress. I love this picture!

She now weighs 23 lbs and is 34 1/2 inches tall.
She gained the rest of the pound and grew a whole inch. I guess she was trying to make up for last month.

She has started to talk in sentences sometimes. She doesn't say things clearly but people tell me not to worry, even her doctor. We are having her hearing tested just to be sure she is hearing correctly. Just to be safe.

It has been the most rewarding thing to be able to watch my little girl grow! I only wish she would slow down!
