We went to Willard Bay this past weekend and went camping. It was Ayla's first time camping. I wanted her to have the experience. I loved going camping when I was a kid. It was Ashlyn's first time too but I am sure she wont remember.
I packed everything up on Friday and my sister, Marion and I did the shopping that day. We spent the night at Marion's that night so we could all go leave early the next morning.
Ayla and I slept on the air mattresses we were using for camping. Ashlyn slept in her pack and play.
This is how Ayla slept!! She cracks me up! LOL!!
I woke up in the night and she was like this. I took her to the bathroom and put her back on the mattress the correct way. When, I woke up in the morning she was like this again. I had to get a picture. This is why she still has a guard rail on her bed.
We went with my side of the family. We all went to Denny's at the Flying J off of 9th west for breakfast.

We set up camp when we got there, then spent the rest of the day at the beach.
We didn't have a boat or anything like that but we had lots of things that float.

It really shows how excited he was! That kid didn't get out of the water until we ate lunch and then he went straight back in. He was in the water for about 5 hours. It was so fun to watch him! He was having the time of his life! He even lost one of his swim shoes! LOL!
My mom and I spent most of the day on the shore with Ashlyn keeping the sun off of her.

I did go out in the water a couple of times. I am actually in a raft with Ayla in this picture. We are on the upper left with my Dad. And Marion and Lane are lined up with us on the right.
Ashlyn fell asleep once while we were at the beach. It was short lived. I think it was just too hot. I kept soaking her little shirt and bonnet with some bottled water. I didn't want her to get over heated.

We decided that Ashlyn's pack and play was too big for the tents, so we brought a drawer for her to sleep in. I loved it because I was so close to the ground and I could have her right by me. I could keep an eye on her.
It turned out to be a hot night. We didn't use covers for most of the night.
We all had a great time and all survived!
It was a lot of work for one night but it was worth it to see my kid have so much fun! I am glad she now has gone camping and we will have to do it again sometime!
