We went camping!!!

We went to Willard Bay this past weekend and went camping. It was Ayla's first time camping. I wanted her to have the experience. I loved going camping when I was a kid. It was Ashlyn's first time too but I am sure she wont remember.

I packed everything up on Friday and my sister, Marion and I did the shopping that day. We spent the night at Marion's that night so we could all go leave early the next morning.

Ayla and I slept on the air mattresses we were using for camping. Ashlyn slept in her pack and play.

This is how Ayla slept!! She cracks me up! LOL!!
I woke up in the night and she was like this. I took her to the bathroom and put her back on the mattress the correct way. When, I woke up in the morning she was like this again. I had to get a picture. This is why she still has a guard rail on her bed.

We went with my side of the family. We all went to Denny's at the Flying J off of 9th west for breakfast.

 Me and Ashlyn!!!

 Marion and Ayla!

This is everyone else that came.
Starting on the left: Lane, Ayla, Marion, Dad and Mom.

 Ashlyn and Mom!

We set up camp when we got there, then spent the rest of the day at the beach.

We didn't have a boat or anything like that but we had lots of things that float.
Ayla on one of the lake-boards!

I love Lane in the background in this picture!
It really shows how excited he was! That kid didn't get out of the water until we ate lunch and then he went straight back in. He was in the water for about 5 hours. It was so fun to watch him! He was having the time of his life! He even lost one of his swim shoes! LOL!

My mom and I spent most of the day on the shore with Ashlyn keeping the sun off of her.

 My cute little baby!!!

I did go out in the water a couple of times. I am actually in a raft with Ayla in this picture. We are on the upper left with my Dad. And Marion and Lane are lined up with us on the right.

Ashlyn fell asleep once while we were at the beach. It was short lived. I think it was just too hot. I kept soaking her little shirt and bonnet with some bottled water. I didn't want her to get over heated.

Ayla with some Doritos on her face and fingers!

Here is the raft we had!
This was taken when we were deciding to leave the beach. This was when Lane was finally ready to get out! LOL!

 Ayla and my Dad!

Ayla getting a little more play time in.

Such a happy girl! She had a blast at the beach!

We went back to camp and we all got cleaned up.
See our tents in the background?!

Ayla loved laying in the tent with her Grandpa!

I think this was Ayla's first time drinking out of a can. It was lemonade. I had about 6 of those puppies at the beach.

My Dad cracks me up! I love his flashlight!

Ashlyn finally got a little nap in on Grandma!

Everyone just loves Ashlyn and I love it!
There is nothing better than seeing other people love your child!

My Dad's hair looked awesome, so I had him do the rocker sign! LOL!

It looked like a moe hawk!

It is the simple things that make us happy! She loved looking at the forks!

 Ashy and Marion!

This is Ayla eating the marshmallow she cooked for her first time over a fire!

 Sticky girl!

We decided that Ashlyn's pack and play was too big for the tents, so we brought a drawer for her to sleep in. I loved it because I was so close to the ground and I could have her right by me. I could keep an eye on her.

It turned out to be a hot night. We didn't use covers for most of the night.

We all had a great time and all survived!

It was a lot of work for one night but it was worth it to see my kid have so much fun! I am glad she now has gone camping and we will have to do it again sometime!

Special thanks to my good friends, Cory and DeeDee for letting us use their tents!

How super smart are you for the drawer?! I would never have thought of that and she is so stinkin cute in it! =) what a fun adventure for you and your sweet girls. Camping is indeed the best.

Your solution for Ashlyn was hilarious. I will have to remember that for when we go camping. When Cyrus was a baby we just tried to have him sleep in with us and it was too stressful worrying about him all night and waking up every 30 min. to make sure the covers were not over his head and stuff. Your drawer idea is much better.

Camping is a lot of work, but makes such wonderful memories!

You are SO brave, doing all the preparation work to take little Ashlyn camping! I'm way impressed!

How clever of you, making a baby bed out of a drawer!
