Our Easter! 2012

First, I want to show our decorations.

I made this wreath out of puff balls. I am so proud of myself because I came up with the whole idea myself. I just made some puff balls, cut a circle out of foam board, drilled holes with a pencil and then stuck the pipe cleaners (the thing that holds the puff ball together) through the holes. I then hung it by some white ribbon. I love how it turned out!

And here it is with the rest of the decorations!

Here are the girls' Easter dresses.
They haven't worn them yet because we haven't gone back to church. It is supposed to be RSV season this month, so we are waiting. I plan on getting some pictures of them in them.

We started our Easter the Wednesday before Easter. Kurt's side of the family came over for a candy hunt in our backyard.

Kurt's cousin, Tina and her family joined us. This is her first time holding Ashlyn. The cool thing is Tina and I were friends through Jr. High and High school. It is a small world!

Here are the kiddos all excited to go out to find candy.
They decided to put their baskets on their heads.
Kurt, Ayla, Brooke, Morganne and James.

Let the hunt begin!

I love the excitement on James's face in this picture! You would think he found gold!

Ayla's loot!

Cute Kurt!

All the kids found bubbles during the hunt!

And chalk!

The kids had fun coloring with the chalk!

On Thursday, we went to my sister, Marion's to dye eggs.

Ayla and Lane!

They dyed all 18 eggs!

Saturday night, Ayla put out hers and Ashlyn's Easter baskets out so the Easter Bunny could come!

Ashlyn Easter morning! Cute girl!

And the Easter Bunny came!

Ashlyn's loot! Or should I say mine and Kurt's loot!

Ayla's loot!

Ayla opened hers and Ashlyn's presents!

Ashlyn got some bath cloths!

And this cute elephant bath cloth!

Ayla got this crown and wand set!

Puss in Boots!

And...

a suncatcher to paint! Ayla loves to paint! She loves anything to do with art!

She also got 2 kites!

She was really excited about the candy eggs she got. She said. "Look my favorite!!!"

Ashlyn again! So cute!

I let Ayla paint her suncatcher that morning!

She did awesome!

We then had the Easter story through the Resurrection Eggs. You should check these out. It is fun way to tell children the Easter story.

Then we had my side of the family over for dinner that evening!

Marion and Monty brought their puppy for a little while. Then Monty took her home with him.

I had to get a picture of Kurt with the dog inside our home. This is something that will probably never happen again. We will never own a dog. Kurt likes dogs but he just doesn't want to live with them.

I took little Meshia outside!

Here is uncle Ernie, getting ready to eat his dinner!
My mom actually made the dinner. She mad a meatloaf and mash potato dinner, yummy!!

Ayla decided to dress up and act as Puss in Boots! Don't you love that her sword is her wand?

She was very attentioned to detail. She even went and put her boots on.

Then my sister, Marion, my brother, Robert and my Dad helped me hide 112 eggs in the yard so that Ayla and Lane could have an Easter Egg hunt!

My Dad got really creative!

Kurt and Ashlyn getting ready to head outside to watch the hunt!

Let it begin!

Ayla found the one my Dad balanced on the bubble wand!

Lane found all the high eggs!

Ayla's loot!
Each egg had one piece of candy in it.

We had a wonderful Easter with our families!

Ayla and Ashlyn got a Swing Set!

Since we bought the house last year, I have been wanting to get Ayla and Ashlyn a swing set. I saw one I really liked in one of my sister, Marion's, neighbor's backyard. I actually loved it! I looked all over for it last year but could not find it. I could find one that was similar but it was about $4oo and it didn't have the glider swing. I was not happy about the price and I really wanted the glider swing. I loved the glider swing on our swing set we had as a kid.

Anyway, I just happened to look on Kmart's website and I found the swing set! I was so happy and it was on sale! It was originally $269.99 and I got it for $199.99. I then had it shipped to the store so I didn't have to pay for shipping. It's price has even gone down more. I will share the link at the end of the post.

I asked my Dad if he could come over this past Saturday to set it up. Him and my uncle, Ernie put it together. I took a few pictures during the process.

Most of the pieces all over the yard!

Got the frame together!

Putting the springs on the little trampoline!
Yes, I said trampoline! This was one of the reasons I loved this swing set!

Ayla cracked me up!
She had to try everything out as they would get things put together. In this picture, they were still tying down everything for the trampoline.

Putting the swings on!

Putting on the glider swing!

Ayla trying the glider swing!

Ayla swinging on one of the swings!

Putting the slide on!

My Dad just finishing a few things while Ayla tries out the slide!

And here it is! Don't you love my little model?!

Ayla is so happy! :)

Look at the smile on her face!

We invited her cousins, Morganne and Kurt over that day to play on it!

Kurt!
The glider swing is the funnest! Between that and the trampoline the swing set rocks! The slide is pretty cool too the kids fly down it!

The swing set has been up all week and Ayla has not missed a day to play on it! We love it!

I am so happy I was able to find this swing set and that we got it up this past weekend! It is a Easter/Spring present from Kurt and I for the kids!

Here is the link to the swing set.

Ashlyn is 1 month old today!

I can't believe that Ashlyn turned 1 month old today!

This was taken tonight!
She now weighs 10.2 lbs!
She is now 22 inches long!
So she has gained 3 lbs and has grown an 1 inch!

She loves baths!
She is starting to smile! (Not sure if it is just gas!)
She is becoming more aware of who is holding her. It seems her eyes sight is getting clearer.
She is getting good at gripping onto things.

I took this picture when she was 3 days old for her announcement!

This is how her announcement turned out! I had them printed at Costo. I love them!

Grandma Perry's first time holding her!
This was taken a little over a week ago. There were sick kids at the Perry's home when we had Ashlyn and so Grandma and Grandpa Perry weren't able to come visit until all was well. I am so glad they are able to come over now!

This was my sister-in-law, Carolyn's first time holding her!

And this was my sister-in-law, Krista's first time meeting her!
This was taken 2 days ago. She was the one that had the sick kiddos, so that is why she wasn't able to meet her until now. Her kids got to meet her too! We are so grateful the kids are all well and able to come and visit!

Now, I just want to share some cute pictures of Ashlyn that were taken through out the month.

Ayla burping her!

Ayla hugging her!

I love this one of her crying!

This was one of my favorite onesie of Ayla's! Now it is Ashlyn's!

I had to put her other bink in her mouth because she was holding onto the ribbon that connected her main bink we use!

Ayla putting her and Ashlyn's feet together!

Just chillin on Daddy's lap!

Sucking on her finger!

She is just so cute! We love having her as part of our family!
